Welcome to the Banbridge Swimming Club website.

The Club was founded in 1988 and has steadily grown in size to its current 140 members. One of the founders Geraldine Hill is the Head Coach and remains as enthusiastic and committed to swimming as ever.

Our well attended training sessions are held throughout the week at the new Banbridge Leisure Centre. The Club's objective is to encourage young swimmers from the age of six onwards and develop their swimming skills and abilities in a safe and secure environment.

The Club coaches, Officers and Committee are committed to providing an excellent standard of teaching where our members learn, have the opportunity to take part in all our activities and even have fun.

In line with the Club's Development plan we are currently introducing a learn to swim scheme based on the ASA's National Teaching Plan.

The excellent Teletots League provides our youngest swimmers with an introduction to competitive swimming and the chance to take part in Galas with other Clubs. Older swimmers progress to the Provincial Towns League in addition Swim Ulster's Competition Pathway offers the opportunity to take part in events such as Stroke development, Age Group Superstars and Open Galas.

Whilst every swimmer is encouraged to fulfil their individual potential team spirit and respect for others are key elements of the Club's ethos.

As a club we are always looking for new members and hold Time Trials on a number of occasions each year. If you are interested in swimming and would like to know more about us please get in touch.

Message from Head Coach

I have seen the club grow from strength to strength, since the beginning when I went to a meeting as an interested parent to support starting a swimming club in the town. I got roped in as a helper and I am still here! Our swimmers now are achieving great positions in the Teletot and Provincial town leagues and making a splash in open events. The club is thriving due to the hard working, dedicated committee , coaches & last but not least to the swimmers who are committed to training along with the continuing support of the parents.
