Teletots Promoted to Section 1

Teletots Team Captains Robert Lyttle and Jenny Wilson collected the Belfast Telegraph Charity Shield on behalf of the Banbridge Teletots Squad on Friday 5th June. Banbridge went into the finals as section leaders, a position they maintained throughout the final, to eventually win with 361 points from Lurgan in second place and City of Belfast in third. The Banbridge Teletots squad will now be promoted to Section 1.Robert and Jenny said they were delighted with the clubs success and were especially pleased with the performance of all club swimmers. Both Team captains were proud to collect the trophy on behalf of the club and just a little disappointed that as Group D swimmers they will not be able to participate in Section 1 next year but wish the younger swimmers every continued success. Congratulations to the Teletots squad and thanks to Group D swimmers Megan McKenna, Rebecca Jess, Aine McGrath, Lucy Stevenson, Sam Farson, Declan Loy, Kealan McCambridge, Neil Kilpatrick, Callum McDonald, Scott Donnelly and Craig McConnell for their contribution to the Teletots squad over the last four years.

Heidi competes in Triathlon

Former Banbridge Club Member Heidi Grice is settling into life in Australia and has completed her first Triathlon where she had to swim 100M, cycle 3Km and run 500M – pretty good when you’re just 7 years old. Heidi is swimming for the Club at Lauriston Girls School and she attends school at Auburn Primary. The family have settled in well but arrived in soaring temperatures of up 45 degrees – certainly not an issue we have had to deal with in Banbridge over the last few months!

Goodbye to Heidi

On a sad note we are to loose Heidi Grice in January when she and her family return to Australia. That means an open air 50m pool in Brisbane for Heidi so maybe not so bad for her but she will be missed.
